Motion to accept minutes of previous months meeting as posted on Website...Approved

Old Business:

Mike Calderone recapped last Saturdays meeting attended by club members who want to be Ride Captains and by those who just want to know more about what might be required to lead rides. Mike encouraged all in attendance to read the document that came out of that meeting which is posted on the Website under the "Up Front" and "Ride Rules" buttons. Kudos from the group to Ron Growel for creating the resulting document.

New Business:

Discussion of scheduled rides. Ron Growel provided additional details for the upcoming "3rd Annual Moonlight Ride" John Q. will post the new information on the Website under "Future Rides."

New Rides Added:

John Q says Tera Salo will be returning to our shores September 23rd after spending several months with the U.S. Navy in Okinawa. He suggests scheduling a "Welcome Home Tera" ride for September 29th to begin in her driveway. All approve.

Mike suggests a ride to Idyllwild before it gets too chilly. The ride is scheduled for October 20th (a Saturday). The So Cal Cruisers will be invited to join us in Temecula. Ride details to be posted on the Website.

Ron Growel suggests a "Scavenger Ride" with riders forming groups to seek out items on a list ranging from Black Donkeys to Three Masted Sailing Ships. Why not? This ride is scheduled for NOvember 4th with details to be announced on the Website.

Toy Run Report from Ron Growel:

Ron collects funds from several members for T-Shirt and Pin purchases. Suggests with event drawing near it's about time we did some serious thinking about who wound be in charge of the departure, arrival, registration and booth. We decided to volunteer everyone who wasn't at the meeting. Don Presten, owing to his brilliant strategies of past years at the departure point was voluteered to spearhead that effort. Bobby Presten, thanks to her many years experience at the registration table gets to call the shots there. Pat Sammarco had earlier expressed considerable interest in setting up the Wanderer's Booth at the arrival site (a first for us this year) and so is in charge of that. Tera Salo did such an outstanding job directing arrival traffic last year and avoiding being run down by the cat herd that she gets to ramrod the arrival crew this year. See what happens when you don't attend meetings? John Q has been volunteered to be the event M.C. at the Roadhouse. He requests all scripts be submitted at least six months in advance.

Each of those named above will work with Ron Growel (overall coordinator for the club) to determine which club members work at departure and arrival points. A sign up sheet or request for volunteers will be issued by Ron so a list can be made up on the Wanderers List-Serv.

Treasurers Report:

Gary Steinweg pronounces the kitty solvent with a $676 ($300 set aside to purchase Toy Run T-Shirts in the event they're not all sold at Novemembers run. Gary says 33 Wanderers patches are sold. When 3 more are sold existing patches will be paid for and future money from sales will go into account set aside for future patch purchases.

End of Meeting:

The meeting was declared ended at 10:50 am. (Or thereabouts, the note taker forgot to check his watch)

After Meeting Ride:

DeAnn Gayken had never had the pleasure of meeting honorary Wanderer, Blackjack the donkey. Several members escorted her to the meeting in Lyons Valley.

Submitted for your pleasure by John Q. Lawrence
