Lawrence; Bill & Debbie Ball; Dick “Grumpy” Useted; Leon Smeiska & guest, Jill; Barry Borden; Joe Baker; Sean & Tina Brooks; Tera Salo; Scott “Sparky” Holecek; Rebecca Hall; Bill Edwards; Tom “Doc” & Bonnie Cassidy; Ursula Hartman; Kent Saxton; Ron Growel; Fabian Gil; and someone else, who’s name I can’t read (sorry about that…John???) ; guests, Bill & Sparrow Daewitz, Tom Warren, and Jeremiah Culp.

Rod Fleming called the meeting to order at 10:03 AM.

Minutes: It was moved and seconded that the minutes be approved as posted to the web site (albeit a little late). Minutes were approved.

TREASURUER’S REPORT: It was moved and seconded that the report be accepted as posted to the web site. Treasurer’s Report was approved. (We gotta spend some money!)

TOY RUN REPORT: Ron Growel gave the overview of the Toy Run. There were approximately 850 participants this year, with over $10,000 worth of toys and $3,500 in cash donations, which will be matched by a private corporation, bringing the total cash collected to over $7,000!!! Good Job!!! On a more serious note, Ron read a letter, which he had drafted, to the Toy Run Committee, outlining some of our concerns that arose during this Toy Run. The Wanderers position is purely from a charitable point of view, and we offer no other agenda. Due to the controversy which arose from a small contingent over the Casino Pauma policy of not allowing the wearing of “colors” or “patches” inside the casino, and the fact that two people who have worked extremely hard organizing this event will be resigning, the Wanderers regretfully intend to withdraw support unless the small group causing trouble is banned from participation with the organizing committee. After some discussion, the letter was approved unanimously.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: Kent Saxton has gone “Gold”, having achieved the goal of riding 3000 club miles. Carole Helstrom made up membership cards for everyone, and handed them out. Merry Christmas!

RIDES:

Hot Springs Campout at Agua Caliente January 17 & 18
Don Presten’s Freeze Out Ride (*ANNUAL) February (TBA)
Palm Springs (ANNUAL) October (TBA)

(*This ride was inadvertently left off the Annual Calendar. Sorry, Don).

Kent Saxton gave a pre-ride briefing during the meeting, the topic being “Ride Protocol” He tossed a ball to a member with the instruction that he or she gives one example of safe group riding, and then toss the ball to someone else. This caused much hilarity, as well as getting the message across, “Ride Safe---especially when in a group!”

Meeting adjourned at 10:40 AM
Respectfully Submitted,
Rose Fleming
Secretary
