WANDERERS GENERAL MEETING
May 25, 2002
Country Choice Restaurant
ATTENDING: Greg, Seanna & Gregory (a future Wanderer in his own right?) Huber; Kent Saxon; Joe Baker;
Barry Borden; P.A. Davis; Al Sessler; “Bronco” Bill Edwards; Thomas “Doc” Cassidy; Joe Durham; Dick “Grumpy” Usested;
John Q. “Webdude” Lawrence; Quintin Bradley; Ron “Taz” Growel; Tera Salo; Rod & Rose Fleming; and NEW MEMBERS,
Kat Malasky, Aaron Addison, and Mike & Darlene MacDonell.
Meeting called to order by Rod Fleming at 10:01 AM. (immediately followed by a motion to adjourn. Motion was denied,
as we still had some stuff to talk about, and we didn’t want to disappoint all the new people attending.)
MINUTES: Doc moved that the minutes be accepted as posted to the Website; Greg seconded. Minutes approved.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Neither Gary nor his effigy showed up, so the treasury report was as follows: We have
$1,033.95. Having already posted his report to the list, John Q. moved that the treasury report be approved; Doc
seconded, and the motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS: The price for the large patches was deemed to be too great for the current treasury to support.
Kat volunteered to contact “Custom Logos” for their bid. Meanwhile, the order for the small patches was approved
as follows: An order will be placed for 100 3” patches (upon quality approval) at a cost of $3.55, which will
be sold for $6.00, with the excess money going back into the Patch Account. Motion to that effect was made by
Rod, seconded by John Q., and passed unanimously. Discussion of large patches was tabled for the time being.
TOY RUN: Ron Growel reported on the last meeting of the Toy Run Committee. Pauma Casino will be providing
the stage for the band, electrical outlets, and food from 11-3 PM. Campsites are available. There will be a booth
at the casino selling the Toy Run 2002 tee shirts. The official radio station will be 103.7 FM. The next committee
meeting will be held June 23 at 10 AM. It will start at South Shores, and the various routes will be pre-ridden
(as handy an excuse for a ride as I’ve ever seen).
NEW BUSINESS: It was proposed that there be a “Secret” website accessible only to Wanderers. The purpose
is publication of information useful to individual members, such as announcing that you are a mechanic, or an electrician,
or a carpenter etc., willing to provide assistance--emergency or otherwise--to other members. This information
would not be accessible to people outside of the club. John Q. will provide the appropriate button and will also
reveal the password at a later date (like probably tonight). Contact him with your resume if you are willing to
participate.
RIDES: The following rides are either on the website or are new proposals. Details will be posted as they
come in.
May 26 Puerto Nueva Ride (Kat’s ride—you go girl!)
May 27 Impromptu Memorial Day Ride
June 1 Blessing of the Bikes Ceremony/Ride
June 2 Rob & Maureen’s Marathon Cheer-on Ride
June 9 Blue Knights Charity Run
June 22 Wolf Run* (after meeting)
June 29 Ride for Kids
July 6 Anti-Destination Ride
July 13 Ride to Chaparral
August ? Joe’s Big Bear Weekend Ride
* This run is open to all members, but only a limited number will be allowed to go into the wolf preserve, and
advance reservations must be made. Contact Greg to RSVP.
Motion to adjourn was made by Greg, seconded by John Q., and everyone agreed.
Meeting adjourned at 10:41.
Respectfully submitted,
Rose Fleming
Secretary
