Rose Fleming, Secretary Reporting
ATTENDING: Rod & Rose Fleming (and Jay); Mike Calderone & Linda; Sean & Tina Brooks; Debbie &
Bill Ball; Gary Steinweg; Al Sessler; Joe Baker; Greg & Seanna Huber (and Gregory); Fabian Gill; Ron Growel;
Leon Smeiska; Carole Helstrom; John Q. Lawrence; Scott Holecek; Rebecca Hall and guest Melinda Mitchell; Doc
& Bonnie Cassidy; Bill Edwards; Pat Sammarco; Don Presten; P.A. Davis
Meeting was called to order by Rod Fleming at 10:04 AM.
MINUTES: It was moved and seconded that the minutes be approved as posted on the web site.
TREASURERS REPORT: It was moved and seconded that the report be approved as posted.
TOY RUN REPORT: Ron Growel updated the group as to the list of things needed for the upcoming Toy Run as follows:
A Preliminary parking lot meeting will be held at South Shores for all people involved in the parking duties.
Pre-ordered tee shirts are not ready, but will be coming in on Monday.
Fran Del Santo needs regular 35mm photos (not digital) for submission to the newspaper.
Workers with cell phones need to submit their numbers to Ron for distribution.
FRS radios are needed at both ends of the run.
Casino Pauma will have box lunches for sale at $4.00 apiece. Approximately $2.00 will be donated back to the Toy
Run. There will also be a food booth at the destination.
John Q. has requested digital counters at both ends of the Toy Run.
There will be a final meeting with the staff coordinator at Casino Pauma on Sunday, November 24 at 11 AM for those
who are heading up the various committees.
Over 300 shirts will be available with distribution of approximately 270 at south Shores, and 30 at the Booth at
Casino Pauma.
Casino Pauma has put together a package of “freebies” for each registered participant.
Al will put together a survey form asking how participants heard about the Toy Run. This is an attempt to gauge
the most effective way to advertise.
P.A. will head up a pre-run ride after this meeting for those interested.
Pat Sammarco reported that registration at South Shores will begin promptly at 9:30 AM. There will be no early
registrations.
Carole Helstrom needs 2 volunteers from each sponsor group to assist with the cleanup after the event. She will
also be coordinating the tee shirts and pins sales.
John Q. will be the MC again this year.
ODDS AND ENDS: The annual Christmas party with the SoCal Cruisers will be held in Laguna Hills at the Split Rock
Tavern on Saturday, December 7 beginning at 6 PM. Rod will lead the group attending that party. For those who
will be coming up the following day (Sunday), there will be a group ride leaving at 9 AM. Details are posted on
the web site. Don Presten reviewed the “rules” for the use of the ListServ. The purpose is ostensibly limited
to motorcycle related topics and some ride banter. He asked that, rather than submitting full-sized photos, a
link be set up to view them. This is because there are some on the list that are on a dial-up system, and it takes
too much time to download. He reminded us that the Delphi site is open to any and all topics. Those wishing to
have their ride write-ups published in the newsletter should send them to Pat Sammarco directly.
RIDES:
Holiday Ride to Carole & Scott Helstrom’s Dec. 28 after General Meeting
Mike C.’s New Year’s Ride January 1, 2003
Don Prestens Annual Freeze-Out January 11, 2003
Doc motioned for adjournment (“Let’s ride!”); several people seconded. Meeting adjourned at 10:45 AM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Rose Fleming
Secretary
