TREASURER’S REPORT: Gary Steinweg reported in person this month, which is a pretty safe bet that the report is
correct as was finally posted. (Sorry about the mix-up). We currently have $564.19.
NEW BUSINESS: The purchase of new large patches was discussed, and a head count was taken of those attending who
wanted one. Two members have achieved their gold 3000-mile pins: Sean Brooks and Rose Fleming (Congratulations

Good luck, Carole.
Voting for the revised Charter will also take place at the April meeting. Those members, who have not already
done so, may review the changes on the web site. Questions may be directed to any Board member.
TOY RUN: Ron Growel reported that the fist organizational meeting for the San Diego Toy Run would be held on March
18. A discussion ensued as to whether or not the Wanderers would participate again this year Ron made a motion
to formally present the Wanderer's resignation at the Toy Run Committee's first meeting. John Q. seconded, and
the motion carried. Ron will submit the resignation. An alternative fund-raiser was presented to the members.
Instead of participating in one of many toy runs in December, it was proposed that we host a separate charity
event called (tentatively) “Christmas in July” the proceeds to be donated to the Ronald McDonald house and Children’s
Hospital. John Q. volunteered to chair a committee to begin arrangements for the alternative charity ride. Thomas
Cassidy, Greg Huber, Carole Helstrom and Al Sessler will also participate on the committee.
RIDES:
Gery’s “O’clock Ride” Apr.19
Chaparral III (JQ) May 17
Hearst Castle June 6, 7 & 8
Rock Store July 19
SAFETY REMINDER OF THE DAY: Kent’s focus was on braking and distance allowances. Reminder: At 60 mph, you will
have traveled approximately 282 feet from the time you hit your brakes until you are actually stopped, assuming,
of course, that the roads are dry, your brakes are good, and there’s nothing in the way. (Those who want to check
the math can go to http://www.msgroup.org/tip034.html.) Stopping a motorcycle as fast as possible requires that
you master only a few fundamentals:
Alertness: If you don’t see the need to stop, you won’t.
Reflexes: Reflexes make the difference.
Skill: Under braking is just as dangerous as over-doing it.
Thanks Kent for the great presentation. Everybody ride safe!
Motion to adjourn, seconded. Meeting adjourned at 10:42 AM
Respectfully Submitted,
Rose Fleming
