TREASURER’S REPORT: Gary reported that he had discovered a $60.00 error in a previous report, and corrected it. Not counting money that was collected and/or paid out today, we have a balance of $957.69 in our treasury. John Q motioned that the report be accepted as corrected; Rod seconded and the Treasurer’s report was approved.
OLD BUSINESS: Carole reported that $65.00 was collected and set aside for the Christmas in July benefit that we will be hosting. At the campout last week, Steve Mitchell donated a really nice, brand-new hammock, complete with stand, for which we will be selling raffle tickets, the proceeds to be added to the benefit fund. Tickets will be sold for $5.00 each and the drawing will be held at next month’s meeting, May 22. All members are encouraged to participate by purchasing as many tickets as they can. Further details and (hopefully) a picture of the hammock will be posted to the List.
RIDES & STUFF:
April 25 All Wanderers who are planning on riding to Oceanside tomorrow to see the traveling replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall, are reminded that departure point will be Denny’s in Clairemont, leaving at 8:30 A.M. Those planning on eating breakfast should arrive early.
May 1 So Cal Cycle Works is holding a “First and Foremost Poker Run”. Watch for details.
June 5 The San Diego Wanderers will be holding their annual picnic on. Gary has agreed to furnish the grill, hamburgers and buns, and something he calls “239 beans”. Carole will arrive early to help hold tables. Check the web site for details.
August 7 This is the date of a very special event: the wedding of Mike Calderone and Linda. All Wanderers are invited. Details will be posted.
August 14 The Sea to Summit ride, originally scheduled for August 7, has been
rescheduled. Please adjust your calendars.
Joe Pitz has offered to check availability for a special group weekend to be held at Foster Lodge on Mt. Laguna. Details to be announced.
Please check the web site under “Upcoming Rides” for a full listing of rides and events scheduled for this year. You will notice that all weekends are represented, although quite a few are blank. If you have an idea for a ride, during one of the free days, please contact a board member, (preferably, your Member Representative) so that it can be officially scheduled.
