President Greg Huber called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. He had to use the
gavel because Guido (Paul) and Vito (Steve) wouldn’t pipe down. Someone
suggested they not be allowed to sit together during meetings any longer.
Minutes: John Q approved the minutes as posted. Doc second. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report: Gary Steinweg officially handed the banking info over to Tom
Warren. Thanks Gary for all your hard work. Tom Warren reported that the
treasury balance is $1,155.92 with $137.00 of that in the Charity fund. Rose
Fleming and John Del Santo donated their refund for the campout expenses to the
Charity fund. Rose moved the report be accepted. Someone second and Motion
approved.
Old Business: I reported that quite a few members still haven’t renewed. Gary
suggested a personal e-mail to those members. If still no response within a
week, send one more email informing member that they are being dropped from the
membership, but they are welcome back at any time. Steve reported
Christmas in July will be held July 30th at the Troy Retirement Home located
behind the country Choice Restaurant. This year we will be donating our time to
visit with everyone. More info to follow regarding the show the committee is
going to put on at the First Baptist Church hall, inviting guests from the
retirement home. Steve also reported nothing new on the voice-coms.
New Business: The Board members have appointed Thomas “Doc” Cassidy as the Ride
Coordinator. Congratulations Doc. All ride related information such as;
Training, Write ups, etc. should go through Doc.
Ride demonstration pins were given out to those who showed their skills on the
parking lot course: Good job to the following: Tom Warren, Carole Helstrom, Sean
Brooks, Rebecca Holecek, Rod Fleming, Jeremiah Culp, John Q, Greg Huber, Leon
Smeiska and Kent. Saxton.
We also gave Tom Warren his 3000 mile pin and certificate. Way to go Tom.
This breaking news: John Del Santo has volunteered for the position of
Newsletter Editor. Thanks John
Greg moved that the Fall Campout and Annual Wanderers Picnic be combined. The
pre-picnic ride will be to the campgrounds for those on two wheels, or
families in their cages. Those in camp will stay at camp on Saturday, prepping
for the picnic extravaganza. But don’t worry there is always Sunday to ride to
parts unknown. John Del Santo has volunteered to cook breakfast for
Saturday morning. Everyone agreed. Motion passed.
Jeremiah will be leaving us on Jul 8th for 9 months of Officer Training (Good
Luck) in Rhode Island, then on to Iowa for 3 years. Jeremiah is going to
finish the Memorial site before he goes so everyone needs to get their info to
him by June 15th. His last official club ride will be the 4th of July
ride.
Phase 3 of the rider training is scheduled for June 23rd after the meeting.
Paul brought up that last month Gary said we have nothing to spend money on.
Paul suggested we do T-Shirts for special rides i.e. Campout rides, Blessing of
the Bikes, Anti Destination, etc. Everyone thought it was a good idea.
John Del Santo provided a lot of great information regarding National, State and
County parks. Pricing, discounts, parking info. Along with traveling into
Mexico, John also brought up the issue of traffic lights, Left hand
turning, triggering lights, and intersections. There is too much great
information for me to summarize so I will submit it to Sparrow for the
Newsletter. Thanks John.
