NEW BUSINESS:
Renewal report from Sharie reveals 43 members as of now, with 15 or so people not having responded as yet  Discussion followed. Carole noted members who have moved, one on extended leave, and some members who have been “in abstentia” for some time, noting that dues increase may have resulted in non-renewal. A discussion followed regarding sharing member list with other club members. Carole moved to have this list.Steve seconded.Vote taken (13 for, 2 against.) Passed.  Sharie will inquire who wants to be on the list, who does not. It could then be available in the member’s only section of our website.

Vendors – John Q reminded us about discounts available at some locations, (15% at Fun Bike Center, 10% above cost at So.Cal. Cycle West), and suggested that perhaps it might be time once again for “making a round’ of the shops to reactivate discounts.

John Del Santo had a decibel meter, and he discussed information received when he and Fran took a course regarding measurement of level of sound from pipes. John offered the books from the course to anyone interested in viewing them, and tested the pipes of all interested in knowing how their bike rated.
T-shirts for club/rides – Russ brought info on one t-shirt company, Carole will research several others.  There is interest, and desire to see this happen.
Ride Leader Course – last meeting of ride leader’s course will be held after the meeting today.  All appreciate the time and effort, and expertise, put forth by Doc in these classes. JohnQ brought copies of Good Samaritan law (attached in Minutes file). Discussion followed on pros and cons administering CPR/First Aid. John Del Santo is still exploring a class for the club members desiring to take it.

----
SAFETY FIRST:  Don’t forget to use practice course in church parking lot.  This is not a test. Our objective is to become better riders and insure safe and fun rides together.

----
THIS AND THAT:
JohnQ showed “stuff”….pin backs cheaper at Hobby stores than at bike shows, compact helmet lock from Home Depot.

There was some discussion regarding responses/lack of responses to posted rides. It is after all, a voluntary club, but courtesy would be met if members could let the ride leader know they could or couldn’t make it.  Preplanning and prerides take time..and don’t have to be done if no one is going with you.

Doc motioned that the meeting be adjourned; Carole seconded. The meeting adjourned at 10:45.
Respectfully Submitted,
Carole Helstrom
Secretary
