GUEST SPEAKERS:
Joy Medved made a presentation about the Motorcycle Traffic School she has opened. She gave her riding history, background, certifications, and the process she has gone through to establish this school. It is designed to provide classes for those having to take class because of violations…and is designed to focus on motorcycles and their special needs on the roads. The lesson plans are geared to bikers. The school is also developing a class for mature riders. Classes are open to non-motorcyclists as well. It is all classroom work, no street work. Joy Medved donated a free class pass for our Xmas party. The School is on Miramar Road. Classes are $40 for an 8 hour class. Information can be obtained on her website: joysmotorcycling.com. Nancy thanked Joy for what she was doing. After answering questions from club members we moved on.
Christa Vragel presented the option of motorcycle tours she plans as a travel agent. She described a recent 10 day tip to Spain which cost @$3,500, which included airfare, rental of Harleys, and hotels. A support van carries all luggage and supplies. She tries to put rides together with riders who know each other, and can seek to plan one that we would like to design. Doc spoke about his desire for a motorcycle cruise.
OLD BUSINESS:
Carole has purchased a book from the Lance Armstrong foundation as a gift to Betsy Durham. It was passed around for signatures.

Billy got info to report on road project. It would be free; we would get a club sign. The work requires 1 hour every 3 months. Greg expressed his concern it would be left to a small cadre of members, and Bill E. pointed out that it requires a truck to haul trash out, wearing of vests and hard hats. Billy will bring more info to January meeting since there will not be a club meeting in December.
Rose reported on Xmas committee meeting. The party will be December 17th at the rec room at Sweetwaters where it was held last year. 5:00PM-socialize, 6:00PM – sit down dinner being catered by Boston Market at $10 per plate. Typical holiday fare was ordered..turkey,ham, et al with apple & pumpkin pie for dessert. Women on the committee will supplement the meal. Rose must have all monies for tickets by Dec.9th to assure delivery of food. There will be games, gift exchange, music, dancing, and fun! Linda Calderone donated two leather jackets (I men’s, 1 women’s) in Mike’s memory. Tickets are selling 1 for $5, 3 for $10. Proceeds from raffle tickets will go to help our own Leon and Cristina.
John Del Santo will bring info on the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research ride to the January meeting.
Steve reported on two things. He had nothing yet on Xmas in July. Looking for ideas to present at January meeting. Greg encouraged that it include a ride this year.
