ATTENDING: Rod
& Rose Fleming; Greg & Seanna Huber; Russ Greene; Doc & Bonnie Cassidy; Scott &
Rebecca Holecek; John Q. Lawrence; Bill & Laurie Suiter; Rob Poindexter; Gary
Wright; Ken Storm; Tom Warren; John Del Santo; Jon & Carole McDonald-Gibson.
GUESTS: Matt &

Greg called the meeting to order at 10:00 (his
last meeting as President…a vote of thanks for a good job, Greg.)
MINUTES:
Doc moved that the minutes be accepted as posted to the web site; Russ
seconded, and the motion was approved.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Tom reported that the treasury now has $983.95 in it.
Doc moved that the report be accepted as read; Doc seconded.
Motion approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
There was no report on the Christmas in July event.
Russ has not yet received contact about the proposed meeting in Alpine.
Next month’s meeting (May 27) will be held here at Country Choice.
However, June’s meeting will be at Giovanni’s in Clairemont, and it will
be an early meeting so we can support the Southern Cruisers Toy Run.
Time and directions will be posted later.
All members were reminded of the MSF class
module to be held Saturday, April 29 at Doc’s church from 9 am to 10:00.
Interestingly, the average age of motorcycle riders is 40+.
Since most of us fall in this category (or will at some point), it was
strongly suggested that as many members as possible turn out for this
educational, and, knowing Doc, entertaining event.
Immediately after the class, all members are
asked to join in a ride to Sparrow’s for the Crafts/ Jewelry/Candle Sale Fund
Raiser. Since this sale is to help
fund Seanna and Rose’s commitment to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer
Walk, everyone is urged to bring lots of cash, checks and credit cards.
(Remember that Mother’s Day is coming up.)
There will be coffee and baked goodies to much on while you are shopping.
Those with any money left over, are invited to continue the ride on up to
Alpine for lunch. See the web site
for directions and details.
The Spring Campout is coming up fast.
All members who are planning on camping or just showing up to eat,
must RSVP to Rose ( venture-rose@cox.net
) as soon as possible. The usual
three meals are being provided, but you need to bring your camping gear, and a
chair or two. The camp coffee pots
will be perking away most of the time, but if you want anything else to drink,
please provide enough for your family.
The campout will be at our usual spot in Potrero May 4-6.
See the web site for details.
NEW BUSINESS:
Doc announced that John Del Santo has passed both the Ride Skills and the
Ride Captain Programs, and awarded him his certificate and his gold wings (two
words). Congratulations, John.
All members are invited to attend a Celebration
of Life for Nancy’s husband Grump, who passed away recently.
It will be held Sunday, April 23 at Padre Gold on the corner of Genesee
and Linda Vista Road in Clairemont at 2 pm.
John Del Santo reminded the members of the
up-coming AMA Boot Hill Memorial Run. Details will be posted.
RIDES:
Today

After meeting
Friday, May 5
Greg’s Barrett Junction Fish Fry Ride

THIS ‘N THAT:
John Q. reported on several goodies.
The first one was a free Biker Friendly sticker, available from
www.bikerfriend.org. The only
provision was that you agree to:
1.
Put the sticker on your car or truck.
2.
Keep an eye out for motorcycles
3.
Leave room for motorcycles in stop and go traffic.
4.
Help out a motorcyclist if he’s broken down on the
highway.
5.
Refuse to discriminate.
The second item was a neat little nuts and
bolts sorter that John made. Ask to
see it, or have him post a picture to the List.
Third on his list, was a little advisory:
when it comes to buying that reflective paint that is supposed to turn
clear, save your money. John tried
it, and was not impressed.

John Q. seconded, and the new officers were voted in.
