San Diego Wanderers General Meeting

Guests:  Ellen Jones & Evelyn Ochoa (Kent Saxton’s cousins); Kira Saxton Gearhart (Kent’s daughter) and her friends Steve & Sonia Perich.

Rod Fleming called the meeting to order at 10:00.

Minutes:  Carol motioned that the minutes be accepted as posted to the web site.  Russ seconded, and the minutes were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:  Tom reported that there is a balance of $621.95 in the treasury.  Carole motioned that the report be accepted as read; Rose seconded, and the report was approved.

Old Business:  Russ Greene reported on upcoming plans to attend an authentic gourmet German buffet on July 8, 2006.  All those interested, must RSVP to Russ at rgreene10@cox.net.  The cost will be $15.00 per person, and the money must be turned in to him at least a week ahead of time.  Riders will assemble at the Starbuck’s at Grossmont Center.  Details will be posted.  Members are encouraged to support this event. 

It is with great sadness that today, we are marking Kent Saxton’s death on May 18, 2006.  Kent was our Safety Officer, and we will miss his humor and wisdom.  A Celebration of Kent’s Life will be held at the Spring Valley Baptist Church following a memorial ride immediately after this meeting.  All riders will meet at the Edwards Cinema parking lot. We are expecting approximately 40 bikes and two cars in the procession.  Please line up in the order given.  John Del Santo will be in charge of parking at the church.  Please follow his directions, and help him get all riders off the street and into the parking lot safely.
