1st Ride of 2008

What a wonderful way to kick off 2008...the new year is finally here
Beautiful roads, a nip in the air, and the friends we hold oh so dear
Several new faces joined into the line, the group was too big for just one
So David split the line into two smaller groups...and we all took off heading for fun
There were bikers and trikers all raring to go, as David took off in the lead
There were bikes and trikes in group two as well, as Doc 2 led them on his Harley steed
Russ had his candle pal strapped onto his bike, bringing snowman along for the ride
A wonderful threesome, Russ and Snowman....and Katie riding right by their side.
The roads weren't crowded, Dudley's was our first stop, the sun shining upon each face
But the last fifteen minutes before Santa Ysabel...the wind was blowing us all over the place
It promised to get worse, the leaders huddled together, where could we go safely, locating someplace
for lunch?
Off we headed for San Marcos, to throw peanuts in Daltons...it really was such a rowdy, loud, laughing
bunch!
David took us through Elfin Village, to see the new square and the big town clock
When he passed Rt 5's end point, and continued his leading, not one of us really was shocked
It was too great a day, too early to head home, so we headed down the favorite coast road
Stopping at Torrey Pines Glider Port, where gliders WAITED for wind, so they could be flying, traveling in
their preferred riding mode
From there we headed in, it's been days of great gatherings...parties, good meals, and great rides
We have the whole year ahead, to continue these joys, there are so many roads for our motorized strides...
So thanks to David and to Doc2, for their great leads, especially David who planned the whole day
Tomorrow will be here, before anyone knows it... 364 more days available for rides…what do you say?

Group 2 consisted of Doc2 (Lead #2), Steve (Guest), Jon, Carol, Dave, Steve, Mike (Guest), Nancy and Russ (Sweep #2) with Doc and Bonnie (Sharing 4 wheels in a convertible for 2 each).
