Ride Captain Protocols
Certification
Ride Captains will be certified by the Ride Coordinator according to criteria established by the Executive Committee. These criteria are:
1. Completion of Ride Captain Training Program. (This may be done via attending classes, or via self-study of the Ride Captain manual.)
2. Demonstration of ride skill proficiency. This will be done by successfully completing the skills demonstration at the church parking lot, 8758 Troy street. A member of the Executive Committee, the Ride Coordinator, or any person designated by the Executive Committee must observe and certify the successful completion of the ride skill demonstration. The successful demonstration will include riding the course without dropping the bike, going outside the outermost line or putting the rider's foot down on the pavement.
3. Successfully planning and leading a club ride to the satisfaction of the Ride Coordinator or member of the Executive Committee.
Leading Rides
Any member in good standing may lead Wanderers sanctioned rides. Non-sanctioned or "impromptu" rides may be posted to the email list inviting other Wanderers to participate but it must be understood that such impromptu rides are not sanctioned by the Club and mileage does not apply to pin totals.
To lead a club sanctioned ride the member must:
A. Submit the ride plan in a timely manner and in as much detail as possible to the webmaster for posting to the Upcoming Rides page
B. Submit a brief write-up to the email list or webmaster after the ride with participating members names and total mileage. Write-up may be as simple or detailed as the member wishes
C. Agree to conform to all Wanderer Ride Protocols as posted on the web site
